What $5 covers
Everything. There is no premium tier hiding the good features, because there is no premium tier.
Delivery to every guest
Personal invite links sent by text or email — WhatsApp for guests outside the US and Canada — plus a shareable link with a QR code. Up to 150 guests, including up to 50 with a phone number, covered by the one fee.
Full RSVP tracking
Attending, maybe, declined, and pending, with read receipts on every invite, plus-one support, and adults and kids counted separately. The dashboard updates live.
The design, included
Describe your event and the design engine creates the invitation — 5 image generations come with the event. Or upload your own design, or import one from Canva. Text overlays, effects, and animated GIFs included.
Messaging and updates
Broadcast updates by text and email to any slice of the guest list, run an event wall for posts and replies, and send RSVP reminders. No per-message charges.
Co-hosts and logistics
Invite co-hosts to share the same live dashboard, give guests an add-to-calendar button and a map preview, and edit any RSVP by hand when Aunt Carol calls instead of tapping.
Privacy, for everyone
No ads on your invitation, ever. No third-party trackers on the event page. Guests never see each other's contact details, never need an account, and never get marketed to.
How the big platforms charge instead
None of the major invitation platforms puts a single number on the invitation. Their pricing comes in three flavors, and each one has a catch you discover late.
The ad-supported model
Evite popularized it: the invitation is free, and the platform sells the space around it. Your party becomes ad inventory.
Your guests open your invitation and get banner ads next to it. Removing the ads means upgrading to a paid tier, and the RSVP flow nudges guests to create accounts and opt into marketing. "Free" is paid for by the people you invited.
The coin model
Paperless Post charges in "coins" — premium cards, envelopes, and customizations each cost some, per guest.
The card looks free until you add your guest list. For a party of 40, the coin math easily lands at $20 to $30 for a single invitation, and you find out the real price at the end, not the start.
The subscription model
Other platforms sell a membership: pay monthly or yearly to unlock premium designs and remove the ads from your events.
You host a few times a year, but you pay all year. A subscription is priced for the platform's benefit, and the free tier underneath it still carries ads next to your invitation.
The common thread: when the invitation is free, the money comes from somewhere less visible — usually ads shown to your guests and data gathered from your guest list. We wrote up why we charge instead of running ads and what the free platforms do with guest data, if you want the long version.
Design free. Pay when you publish.
Create your event and design the invitation. Generate, tweak, or start over — no payment yet.
Happy with it? Publishing is $5. Review any extra phone guest charges before paying.
Send invites, track RSVPs, and broadcast updates. If your phone guest list grows, we’ll show any extra texting cost and ask you to confirm.
Pricing questions
$5 per event. Larger phone guest lists may need additional credits to cover texting costs.
How much does Lemonvite cost?
$5 per event with no subscription (a launch price, down from $12.99). That covers up to 150 guests (up to 50 with a phone number), delivery by text and email, RSVP tracking with read receipts, broadcasts, the event wall, and co-hosts. Each additional batch of 50 phone guests costs $5. Checkout shows the full breakdown before you pay. The total cap stays at 150; contact support@lemonvite.com to request more guests.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay per event, with every feature included. Larger phone guest lists may need additional credits to cover texting costs, including when adding guests after publishing. If you host again next year, you pay for that event when you publish it. No membership, no renewal, no monthly anything.
Are there per-guest charges?
Publishing covers up to 150 guests, including up to 50 with a phone number. Each additional batch of 50 phone guests costs $5, with no recurring charges. Archived phone guests still count toward the phone allowance; archiving only frees active guest slots. Removing a phone number after publishing does not free phone allowance. Sending texts is expensive, and our margins are deliberately thin; this small extra fee helps cover texting costs.
Is designing free?
Yes. You can create your event, generate designs with the design engine, upload your own artwork, or import a Canva design without paying anything. The fee applies when you publish the event and start sending invitations.
Do my guests ever pay or see ads?
Never. Guests tap their personal link, see your invitation with no ads and no trackers, and RSVP without creating an account. Their contact details are used to deliver your invitation and for nothing else.
Why isn't Lemonvite free?
Because free invitation platforms are paid for somehow, and it is usually with ads shown to your guests and data collected from your guest list. A small publishing fee means you are the customer, so there is no reason for ads, upsells, or data harvesting to exist here.
What if I host multiple events?
Publishing is $5 per event. Events with larger phone guest lists may need additional credits to cover texting costs. Your address book carries over between events, so the guest list you built for the last party is ready for the next one.
